Sayonara Palm Trees

I honestly do not know what kind of person thinks that planting palm trees in your front yard is a good idea. I'm not talking about those really cool exotic palm trees, the really fat short ones with the really cool palms, or the really skinny breezy rich looking ones. I'm talking about your typical tall, boring, constantly needs to be trimmed, 40-50 feet of palm trees.
Lucky for us there once was a genius who lived in our house who thought it would be clever to put two of the nasty, thanks for not providing any shade, palms in the front yard, especially since Oakley is so incredibly windy. As a result we constantly have to deal with the dead palms falling on the roof and drive way, the drive way and garage door getting covered with bird poop, and every spring we have to clean up the dead baby birds that fall out of the nest.
The opportunity recently presented itself for us to get rid of both of our palm trees... we jumped on the offer like an adult who doesn't know how to swim would cling to a floaty. We are now proud to be free of palms!

It was fun watching the guy climb the trees and cut them down with a chainsaw, however it did not make either of us wish to change our profession. Now the new mission at hand is to find two perfect trees to put in the now empty spots.
